Multidimensional Boltzmann Neutrino Transport Code in Full General Relativity for Core-collapse Simulations

We develop a neutrino transfer code for core-collapse simulations, that directly solves the multidimensional Boltzmann equations in full general relativity. employ discrete ordinate method, which discretizes six dimensional phase space. The is an extension of our special relativistic coupled to Newtonian hydrodynamics code, currently employed supernova simulations. In order demonstrate code's capability treat effects, we conduct some tests: first compute free streaming neutrinos Schwarzschild and Kerr spacetimes compare results with geodesic curves; case deploy not only 1-dimensional grid space under spherical symmetry but also 2-dimensional spatial mesh axisymmetry assess advection neutrinos; secondly, calculate transport fixed matter background, taken from simulation spherically symmetric Boltzmann-hydrodynamics obtain steady distribution; are compared those given by latter code.

We present self-consistent general relativistic simulations of stellar core collapse, bounce, and postbounce evolution for 13, 15, and 20 solar mass progenitors in spherical symmetry. Our simulations implement three-flavor Boltzmann neutrino transport and standard nuclear physics. The results are compared to our corresponding simulations with Newtonian hydrodynamics and O(v/c) Boltzmann transport.
